4.1 About IJN Foundation
IJN (Institut Jantung Negara) Foundation is non-profit organization formed under IJN Hospital that focuses on helping to save lives and improve the quality of medical care for heart patients in Malaysia.
The Foundation runs as a non-profit charity, and they need the public's help to continue their initiatives to continuously improving the state of cardiovascular medicine in Malaysia, and helping the less fortunate heart patients get a new lease on life.

4.2 Services
Financial Assistance
IJN Foundation provide financial assistance for Malaysian heart patients who are unable to afford vital medical aid.
Funding
IJN Foundation also funds research & clinical trials, as well as medical education & training, to continually improve the state of Malaysian cardiac medicine.

4.3 Organization History
Set up in 1995 to originally finance cardiovascular research initiatives, and to provide funds for foreign fellows on training attachments the IJN Foundation subsequently branched out into providing financial assistance to heart patients, when it became clear that a philanthropic organisation was needed to assist less fortunate heart patients unable to cope with the rising costs of heart healthcare. Today, IJN Foundation is a registered tax exempt non-profit organisation, affiliated with Institut Jantung Negara.

The heart-shape in IJN Logo is the symbol of the organization’s main services for heart patients. The red heart colour represent their main focus to help the needy heart patients.

4.6 Corporate Mission
IJN Foundation is commited to receive, raise, manage and administer funds for the purpose of enhaning and improving health care of cardiovascular patients in particular and public at large.
Objectives
- To provide financial assitance to poor, needy and deserving heart patients to obtain medical treatment in IJN or in other hospitals in Malaysia if such treatment is not available in IJN Sdn. Bhd.; or outside Malaysia if such treatment is not available locally.
- To assist and give relief to poor, needy and deserving patients by providing medical or financial assistance including appliances or devices such as pacemakers, intra cardioverter defibrillator, valves etc; travelling fare, daily allowance, accommodation, meals, funeral expenses etc.
- To provide funds and assistance for research and training for the advancement of knowledge of doctors and paramedics including sponsoring conferences, meetings, workshops etc.
- To give scolarship to deserving Malaysians pursuing graduate or postgraduate degree in medicine generally and cardiac in particular.
- To provide financial assistance for educational programmes for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
4.8 Campaign Timeline
Recognition and Appreciation Dinner for Leadership Circle members of IJN Foundation (27th February 2009)
The event was held at a hotel in Subang Jaya, Selangor. A total of 31 members attended this appreciation dinner hosted by IJN Foundation Chairman, Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Dr. Hajjah Aishah Ong.
“Taylor‘s Heart to Art” (21st - 30th March 2009)
The art exhibition was held at the foyer of IJN where 40 paintings were donated by students and teaching staff of the School of Architecture, Design and Building of Taylor’s College. The exhibition was launched by Datin Jullni Mohd. Ali, the Fundraising Committee Chairman of IJN Foundation and Tony Liew, the programme director of Taylor’s College. A total of RM13,000 was raised.
IJN Foundation and Children HeartLink Collaboration (14th - 20th March 2009)
IJN Foundation sponsored a team of six medical and administrative individuals from IJN and IJN Foundation to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital in Britain for five days. The sponsorship was part of the education and training programme supported by IJN Foundation through its partnership with Children HeartLink.
EZ Maths Workshop (16th - 17th March 2009)
IJN Foundation organised a two day workshop on EZ Maths for primary school children. The workshop was conducted by Zullaili Harun, founder of the technique.
Teater Patung Kertas (1st May 2009)
The theatre which was held at MATIC, Kuala Lumpur was a story of a group of “softies” got together to put up a show to help a boy with heart disease to have his surgery at IJN. Part of the proceeds, RM17,706 were handed over by Rahim Omar, Managing Director of Bintang Emas Pictures Sdn. Bhd., the producer of the theatre, to Allawiyah Hj. Yussof, the General Manager of IJN Foundation.
DiGi “Love to Save” Campaign (1st - 30th June 2009)
The month-long DiGi “Love to Save” Campaign netted RM12,540 for IJN Foundation. The telecommunication company had set aside RM150,000 for 14 charity organisazations, including IJN Foundaion. In the campaign, the charity organizations involved were encouraged to get the public to support them by casting their votes online at www.lovetosave.com.my and for every vote, DiGi donated RM5. IJNCustomer Service staff Mohd. Hafiz Mat Nayan, Norlia Shamsuri, Arifah Hambal and Hajjah Zakaria involved in assiting the visitors to vote in the web page.
The “Hearts of Gold” Gala (21st June 2009)
The Hearts of Gold Charity Gala was held to raise funds to purchase two units of infant Flow SIPAP machine for IJN’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The event raised more than RM250,000, surpassing the target of RM90,000 it was set to raise. Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the Prime Minister, who was the guest of honour received the donations of RM20,000 from Syed Annuar Syed Ali, Director of Public Affairs of AmBank, one of the major sponsors.
Launching of Heartthrob Biri Children’s Wear (15th August 2009)
IJN FOundation Chairman Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Dr. Hajjah Aishah Ong launched the Heartthrob Biri children’s wear, including a range of baju kurung for Hari Raya. A range of attractive girls‘ and boys’ clothes - skirts, tops, jeans, shirts, t-shirts, shoes and more was available for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Proceeds from sale of these clothes are used to help underprivileged and heart patients to have their treatment at IJN.

4.9 Media Expenditures
This is an extraction from the online interview that have been answered by Mr. Dardanil Mohd. Shuib:
"According to events, we may use brochure or buntings for exhibitions events, we also invites the media to our sponsorship events for a press conferences. We mainly use media as our partners to promote our campaign. From there the media will help us to inform the public on what is going on in our organization. We do also release our own newsletter to inform public and our donors/sponsorship on our events and charity activities. We used all of these media because of the effectiveness and also efficiency the information can be spread to create awareness and also gain notice from the potential donors."
